The People Team is at the core of Splyt as an organisation; ensuring that all our employees are happy, motivated and continuously developing. The responsibilities of the People Team include payroll, learning and development, talent acquisition and general employment administration. Our team consists of our Head of People, an experienced HR Operations Manager, a dedicated HR Administrator & Office Manager and two driven Talent Associates.

The role

We are looking to bring on board a HR Generalist to manage all HR operations in our Asia offices; Kuala Lumpur & Singapore. As a HR generalist you will work closely with our head office in London, and be responsible for providing support to the business including everything from administration to supporting management, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of ER as well as payroll and all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This is a varied and exciting role, where no two days are the same.

This role will suit an excellent HR officer/manager with experience in fast moving organisations, and used to handling multiple priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide comprehensive HR advice and guidance to managers, internal stakeholders and colleagues across the business
  • Provide end to end support for all matters relating to employment and onboarding
  • Take full responsibility for payroll and bringing this inhouse as much as possible
  • Collaborate with relevant departments such as Finance and Legal to ensure compliance in all areas related to employment
  • Contribute to long-term People Team projects as and when required
  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Communicate with external vendors when required
  • Employee relations: running and managing formal processes to include disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, managing performance
  • Support and deliver training and development for existing colleagues whilst supporting team with new starter inductions and onboarding
  • Maintaining and updating policies and procedures across the business
  • Coaching and developing managers
  • Management of HR projects to include: engagement, health and wellbeing initiatives, new systems integration and training, diversity and inclusion
  • Ad-hoc tasks (sorting documentations, assisting with work permits etc)

Who we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced HR team, providing first level advice on HR policies and procedures, employment law and employee relations issues
  • Excellent knowledge of Singapore and/or Malaysian employment laws and processes
  • Background in payroll processing
  • Excellent organisation, collaborative and approachable communication style
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and deal with a range of incoming enquiries – organisation is key to the success of this role
  • Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
  • Excellent IT, and keen knowledge and experience of the importance of databases and their role in providing accurate management information
  • Able to form and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to ‘get under the skin of problems’
  • Ability to streamline and improve operational processes
